The Gate, Newgate St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 5TG, UK – 0871 200 2000
Seats were capacious, seats were a good distance from the screen and well leveled so you don't get the person in front of you blocking the screen. very clean and tidy inside. snacks, food and drink are quite pricey, so unless your desperate, there are shops near by. there is one person on the door to take your tickets and people behind the tills, so if you have an questions or concerns it can be tricky to get a hold of someone.
Loved going here to watch a film with a friend. A very nice cinema with great screens and audio surround system, which makes it feel and sound great when watching a film within the cinema. I'd definitely recommend going there based on the cost and quality of the screenings. There's always something great to watch and the listings are always up to date with the latest films.

Shows a lot of old films. No parking but wheelchair accessible. There is a lift inside the building. You can get a nice meal there or a snack at a reasonable price. It's a bit tucked out of the way.
Great place. A cinema, a coffee shop, and a bar & restaurant all in one place. - Cinema screens are good and the seats are comfortable. They show big international films in addition to smaller ones. - The bar/restaurant has a nice atmosphere. - The coffee shop upstairs tends to be much quiter.

Car parking vouchers a joke. The movie we wanted to see was full so had to wait 90 mins until next showing, which put us over 4hrs allowed parking. We had to use voucher to leave car park and return allowing time to watch movie and leave car park within 4 hours. After movie finished we got another voucher. When we tried said voucher in car park machine, there wasn't enough numbers on the code to validate voucher. We had to go back to cinema and get a third voucher! This time if worked! Nightmare. Something needs sorting with time limit on car park
Great cinema. Cheapest in the north east, loads cheaper than the MetroCentre, and really comfortable seats! Staff were really nice. I'll definitely be seeing more films here.

Great venue. Relaxed and an engaging space to share with the actors. Highly recommended.
Went to see silk road was a great performance. The staff were all very friendly and the theatre itself is a great size

First visit to this venue to see The Rock Choir. Nicely designed building, there is a bar/ cafe area and open outside space. Friendly staff. Seats had quite good leg room. On the downside it was a hot day and there didn't appear to be any air- con .... which was uncomfortable for the audience and more so for the performers. Lots of advertising for forth coming events and productions , something to suit most tastes.
Quentin crisp. Stunning performance. And the highest compliment from the lady behind us "Oh, is he ok or is he acting? " staff are helpful and friendly as always.

The People's Theatre is a quaint little venue, small in size but with a good layout so it never feels crammed together. They showcase a range of popular plays and those lesser known, and they often work with the same companies so there's a good sense of familiarity. It's quite small, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. There's a pub nearby too so you can make a full evening of it if you wished!
Great foyer and bar. Seats were comfy and the staff very helpful. Best to park on the main road as lots of permit holder only parking nearby. Corner House pub is handy for pre or post drinks and food.
