I regularly shop at Cotswold Outdoor in Newcastle. It's very hit and miss as to what kind of service you get. Sometimes you'll chance upon a member of staff who is able to find the item that was in one place a few days earlier but has since been moved to somewhere less logical. On my most recent visit I was buying a backpack as a gift. I am under the impression that it is law that prices must be displayed for everything on your shelves, but I had to look up the prices on my phone for pretty much every backpack I looked at. And there were no members of staff around on the upper floor to ask for assistance which is a problem I've had before when wanting to try on clothes but no staff around to unlock the changing room! I did inform them about that on twitter, and to be fair they did respond and I've not encountered locked changing rooms since. So sometimes I would rate the store 4 stars, but unfortunately I would also often rate it 2 stars, and even on occasion just 1 star (which in reality is 0 stars but you can't chose 0).
Its an outdoor suppliers of clothing and equipment. This a large and airy store and you feel comfortable walking around. The choices are usually good.

A great army surplus store, prices are reasonable and the staff there are engaging and definitely interested in what they sell. I've had many pleasant conversations and purchases from here, and would definitely recommend. Especially good if someone is going into the cadets or the armed forces, they have everything here.
Excallant shop and well stocked ,very helpful staff

A really great outdoor shop. All the good brands at excellent prices. The best value for money you'll find.
I would rate this place higher if I could, excellent prices, and even better staff; guy gave me excellent tips on a course I'm doing. Please go to shops like this instead of buying your gear from Amazon
